While this year has had its challenges for everyone, one of the many exciting things to happen at WorkSiteRight is the launch of an additional on-site clinic location at Solar Plastics in November.
Solar Plastics had previously implemented an on-site chiropractic clinic in its location in Minnesota, and thanks to that positive experience, wanted to extend the offering to its Davenport, IA, location. The manufacturing industry is one of the industries in which employees are at the greatest risk of injuries related to overexertion, musculoskeletal conditions, and lower back pain due to repetitive motion in their jobs or the need to lift heavy objects.
Expanding on-site care to employees through a new on-site location means the company now has the opportunity to provide access to chiropractic care within the manufacturing facility to a number of people who either haven’t had the ability or access to chiropractic or those who just haven’t taken the opportunity. This additional employee benefit provides healthcare in a convenient, easy-access, low-cost way.
What do Solar Plastics employees say about this new opportunity?
“I think this new on-site chiropractic program is going to be great,” said Dave Schaeckenbach. “I try and keep myself as healthy as possible, but I have also been in a number of car accidents. I am just excited to have someone right here at work that can help. I can’t wait to get in and see Dr. Michelle.”
Dave’s excitement for the opportunity isn’t uncommon among on-site clinic patients. We all can do more to improve our health, and maximizing overall health and well-being not only allows individuals to lead a more productive work life but also enjoy free time more fully. Providing easy access to a natural healthcare option such as chiropractic care enhances peoples’ lives and provides individuals with a resource to improve their overall health — including those with existing conditions, such as lingering pain.
Relief from chronic pain
In addition to helping prevent injury to those working in physical labor jobs, chiropractic care addresses chronic pain and injury. Another Solar Plastics employee is looking forward to having his years-long, lingering pain addressed.
“I have had shoulder trouble going all the way back to high school and my job requires a lot of physical work,” said Chris Bivens. “It has gotten worse lately and I haven’t been able to get in to see anyone. This on-site chiropractic program will be great for me. I am amazed a company of our size is able to provide a benefit like this.”
Whatever the reason for individuals not seeking care for chronic pain, many employees come to WorkSiteRight providers with underlying conditions. In our assessment of employee groups, we find that nearly 1 in 2 employees comes to work with an underlying condition they are not yet having treated. Our chiropractors validate that and can begin working with those individuals to be more productive. Employers say it also boosts employee morale.
It’s not a one-size-fits-all
As part of the process of implementing an on-site clinic, WorkSiteRight does a full assessment of an employer’s specific situation. We look at company goals, the health status and demographics its their employee group, and biggest challenges it faces with employee retention, workplace injuries, and absenteeism. A program is then customized for the employer to specifically meet its company needs and goals.
Employees tend to notice immediate improvements after an on-site clinic is implemented, most notably in their workspace. An important initial assessment is done on the production floor, making sure workspaces are set up functionally from an ergonomic standpoint. While chiropractic care is one of the ways to help employees prevent new or further injuries, making sure they’ve got an ergonomic space set up is just as important to that prevention.
WorkSiteRight offers a turnkey operation, lightening the load on employers. The proven program, setup, and expertise are intended to make a smooth implementation and transition. After opening multiple locations across the nation, we have refined the process to ensure we are providing employers top-notch service with a program that’s quickly ready to implement.
